We focus on new mobility and we coordinate strategic programmes in the field of Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is a new mobility concept which foresees the integration of several types of public and private transportation systems in a single service accessible via smartphone and capable of responding in a personalised way to all specific mobility needs and capable of offering an alternative to private car. All of this is provided in a single app.

We are coordinating one of the most ambitious projects in MaaS and the digitalization of transport and mobility services in Italy with the aim of activating the MaaS ecosystem in Torino and Piemonte.

BIPforMaaS is the new strategic project of the Piemonte Region which aims to create the conditions required to spread the MaaS services to the urban and metropolitan area of Torino and all of Piemonte, starting from the BIP system.

BIPforMaaS wants to support the digital transformation of our mobility system and define all the rules for the future market of MaaS services made possible thanks to a Regional MaaS Platform.

The project has full public governance; it is directed by the Piemonte Region in collaboration with the Piedmontese Mobility Agency and it embraces all aspects connected to the development of MaaS services, as well as the needs of the users, the regulations, business models, data and the standards, and it aims to involve all stakeholders in a collaborative mission, citizens included.

We also support the City of Turin, which has decided to experiment with the MaaS model in a real context through the “Buoni Mobilità” project, co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition. The project will actively involve citizens, in particular those who do not own a car or have given up on it, through a field trial to test the opportunities of MaaS in the urban environment.

We are also the coordinators of the “#TTS4MaaS” National Work Group instituted by TTS Italia which includes companies and trade associations, with the aim of analysing the main conditions necessary for the development and increase of MaaS services in Italy; therefore, it also suggests general guidelines to define the harmonised and interoperable MaaS services.
